Medical Accounts Receivable Representative

About the role

University Physicians’ Association is seeking dedicated team members for Medical Accounts Receivable Representative positions. These medical billing roles offer growth opportunities with an established leader in the healthcare business industry. Remote work options are available; however, candidates must be able to commute to Knoxville, TN for a required on‑site training period of at least 90 days, with possible intermittent office attendance as needed.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of insurance guidelines and requirements to resolve denials or partially paid claims through interaction with insurance carriers, patients, or physicians.
• Correspond with clients to resolve inquiries or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Identify payer trends and notify manager of negative trends.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and compliance.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reports.
• Follow established processes and procedures.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalency; medical billing courses and/or higher education a plus.
• Good computer, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Knowledge of ICD‑10, CPT, and HCPCS codes is not required but preferred.
• Previous medical billing experience is not required but preferred.

Schedule

Full‑time, Monday through Friday work week with flexible scheduling available.
