Medicaid Eligibility & Enrollment Specialist

Position Overview

Freedom Behavioral is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Medicaid Eligibility & Enrollment Specialist to join our team in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Prior hands-on experience with Louisiana Medicaid eligibility, applications, and enrollment is required. We are looking for an individual who understands Louisiana Medicaid processes and can effectively navigate eligibility requirements, resolve application barriers, and assist patients in obtaining coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify uninsured and underinsured patients who may qualify for Louisiana Medicaid.
• Assist patients and families with Medicaid applications, documentation, and enrollment.
• Navigate Louisiana Medicaid eligibility systems and application processes.
• Follow up on pending applications and resolve eligibility or enrollment issues.
• Coordinate with Louisiana Medicaid representatives, state agencies, and managed care organizations.
• Identify opportunities for retroactive Medicaid eligibility when applicable.
• Work closely with hospital admissions, intake, and financial teams to ensure timely coverage.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all applicable regulations.

Required Qualifications

• Prior professional experience working directly with Louisiana Medicaid eligibility and enrollment is mandatory.
• Demonstrated experience completing and processing Louisiana Medicaid applications.
• Strong understanding of Louisiana Medicaid eligibility requirements, documentation, and approval procedures.
• Experience resolving Medicaid application delays, denials, or eligibility complications.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple applications.
