About the role
The Client Benefits Specialist ensures that individuals who may be eligible for state, federal and local benefits are supported in the process of accessing and making application for benefits. The Client Benefit Specialist monitors the status of individuals’ eligibility in the Medicaid program. Responsible for Medicaid eligibility review and updates.
Responsibilities
- Ensure individuals are supported in accessing and applying for benefits
- Monitor and update the status of individuals' eligibility in the Medicaid program
- Perform Medicaid eligibility reviews
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Working understanding of Medical insurance billing, Medicaid and Managed Care organizations
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to utilize technology provided to perform job requirements
Qualifications
- Pass a background check including criminal and driving records
Skills
- Knowledge of APTD, Medical insurance, Food Stamps, and Cash Assistance; TANF; Social Security; and Supplemental Security Income
