Media Service Architect, Network Planning

About the role
We are seeking experienced Service Architects to design, develop, and evolve end-to-end service architectures across our global network and satellite portfolio. These roles will play a critical part in translating business and customer requirements into scalable, reliable, and cost-effective service solutions. The Service Architects will work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, product management, and commercial teams to ensure service offerings are technically sound, operationally viable, and aligned with existing and planned infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end service architectures spanning space, ground, and terrestrial network domains specifically focused on broadcast video for both dedicated and occasional-use solutions.
- Translate customer and business requirements into detailed technical service designs.
- Define service models, workflows, and operational processes (fulfillment, assurance, lifecycle management).
- Collaborate with:
- Network Engineering (capacity, topology, platforms)
- Product & Commercial teams (service definition and packaging)
- Operations (NOC, service delivery, support readiness)
- Develop standardized service templates and design frameworks to accelerate delivery.
- Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, resilience, and security requirements.
- Support cost modeling and business case development for new services.
- Participate in customer engagements as the technical authority when needed.
- Contribute to technology roadmaps and architectural strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in telecommunications, networking, or satellite services.
- Proven experience in service architecture / solution design.
- Strong understanding of:
- Media Protocols (ASI, JPEG)
- IP networking (MPLS, VPNs, routing protocols)
- Satellite communications and ground infrastructure
- Network service delivery models and lifecycle
- Experience with end-to-end service design across multiple domains.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business-aligned solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in satellite operators, service providers, or global network environments.
- Familiarity with:
- Media architecture to include both Occasional and Dedicated solutions
- SDN / NFV architectures
- Network orchestration and automation platforms
- Cloud networking and hybrid architectures
- Knowledge of ITIL or service management frameworks.
- Experience with product development and service commercialization.
- Exposure to MEF standards or similar service frameworks.

Pay
The salary range for this full-time position is $83,520 - $120,600. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and geographic location. Individual compensation within the range is determined based on work location and a variety of factors, including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and relevant education or training. Additional compensation and benefits may apply depending on the location and terms of employment.
