About the role
This role encompasses all financial transactions, including but not limited to client budget reporting, planned versus actual, projections and forecasts, client billing, discrepancy management, client receivables, and vendor payables. This individual is a trusted liaison among the Media Strategy team, internal finance, and the client. The objective is to develop and implement sound business management practices within the Client Finance Group. The manager will champion the budget management process from end-to-end, enforcing the workflow processes across all departments and ensuring quality control throughout.
Responsibilities
- Integrating strategic planning philosophy into communication plan development
- Updating account team on status of all client projects
- Managing the flow of client media-related issues, creating solutions, and resolving issues
- Establishing timetables for development of plans
- Serving as the primary interface internally between the strategy team, media investment team, creative agencies, as well as our back office, namely media reconciliation, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and central Finance
- Acting as the primary point of contact for all aspects of client billings for the Strategy and Investment Teams and other members of the Client Service Team as well as key client personnel
- Serving as the liaison between the Client Budget Management Group and the Client Team(s)
- Acting as the primary liaison between agency and the client for budget management issues
- Serving as the primary contact for all client budget management deliverables and troubleshoot as needed to meet client expectations
- Handling any client requests, e.g., plan or budget changes, as well as be responsible for presentation of the Budget Report to client(s)
Qualifications
- 4+ years' work experience in cross-channel branding strategy or media communications and budget management experience, preferably within the media industry
- Prior client management experience required
- Superior Excel skills
- Must have strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Experience in a fast-paced, client service environment; a high sense of urgency, a positive attitude
- Knowledge of all media types: network (television and radio), local, print, out-of-home, direct and digital
- Knowledge of the dynamics of media – how each media element performs alone, how they perform together and how they are constantly changing
- Must be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines, be proactive, detail oriented, and possess outstanding follow-through skills
- Proven strong team management, interpersonal communication, and collaboration skills
Pay
New York: $50,000.00-$95,000.00
Schedule
Omnicom's policy requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of three days a week, unless additional in-office days are directed by their agency or manager. Our objective is to increase this requirement over time, and many of our agencies as well as Omnicom's corporate group already require five days of in-office attendance.
