MED TELE - RN FT Days
About the role
Self-motivated RN who thrives in a fast-paced, telemetry-focused environment. Previous experience in a telemetry or medical-surgical unit preferred. Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Current Louisiana RN license required. Completion of Basic EKG Course within 6 months of hire. Strong critical thinking, communication, and telemetry monitoring skills. Desire to specialize in stroke care; training provided for TJC Primary Stroke Certification.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional care to patients requiring continuous cardiac and medical monitoring in our dynamic Med Telemetry Unit.
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment.
- Respond promptly to changes and alarms, recognizing medical emergencies and arrhythmias.
- Conduct thorough assessments, develop individualized care plans, and coordinate interdisciplinary care.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in line with evidence-based practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient status, interventions, and outcomes.
- Participate in stroke-specific care protocols as part of a TJC-certified Stroke Unit.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and care teams to ensure quality outcomes.
