Job Requirements
- Education and Experience:
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of one to two years of recent Registered Nurse experience in Medical Surgical, Telemetry, or Acute Care settings preferred.
- Experience caring for a diverse patient population in a hospital setting preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or Compact RN License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred or required based on facility policy.
Essential Functions
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic medical records and clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate and optimize patient care.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, discharge planning, and health maintenance.
- Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and changes in patient condition.
- Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, HIPAA, and quality improvement standards.
- Float to other patient care units as assigned and within competency.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
