About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive patient care across various specialties at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, a part of Mass General Brigham. This position involves direct and indirect patient care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and adhering to regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process.
  • Oversees other assigned team members and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Supports the care of unstable and critically ill patients in the Emergency Department (ED).
  • Performs a variety of patient care and technical duties in the Device Clinic, including interrogation and programming of pacemakers.
  • Assists in fetal monitoring and perinatal procedures in the Maternal Fetal Medicine Practice.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with appropriate resources and multidisciplinary team members to facilitate a comprehensive discharge plan.
  • Ensures patient safety and hygiene, adhering to infection control and universal precautions.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Peri-operative Nursing Program preferred for the OR position.
  • Completion of a Pediatric Nursing Program preferred for the Pedi GI position.
  • Completion of a Psychiatric Nursing Program preferred for the Psychiatry position.
  • Completion of a Neonatal Nursing Program preferred for the Mother/Baby position.
  • Completion of a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Program preferred for the Mother/Baby position.
  • Completion of a Perinatal Nursing Program preferred for the Maternal Fetal Medicine position.
  • Completion of a Specialized Nursing Program preferred for the STAT RN position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required.
