Mechatronics Technician I

Responsibilities

  • Works with Engineering/Quality Control to be sure all dimensions and processes are in conformance by using precision inspection equipment to verify work and fixtures.
  • Effectively perform start of shift and daily maintenance procedures on tooling fixtures and production equipment where required.
  • Effectively set-up and tear-down tools and fixtures in accordance to established procedures.
  • Ensures all set-ups are properly maintained to ensure the safety of the operators and the efficient operation of the equipment.
  • Work with key personnel to ensure all dimensions, processes and automation are in conformance; develop basic skills to work with automation/robots.
  • Analyze Problem Reports and confer with key personnel to make appropriate machine adjustments.
  • Maintain Computer Maintenance Software (CMS) records after tasks are completed.
  • Replace dull or broken cutters, and pre-stage tools while machines are operating.
  • Maintains an organized, clean and safe work environment by following 6S standards.
  • Properly follows all H&M procedures and policies.
  • Use correct P.P.E. per JHA’s and Job Description; required to wear safety shoes with the standard F2412 and F2413 rating.
  • Individuals trained in NFPA 70E Arc Flash are required to wear electrical hazard safety shoes with the F2412EH and F2413EH rating.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities, including the Idea System.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Reset and troubleshoot/repair automated equipment, PLCs, Robots, and Vision Systems as needed with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Adjust and Program robot to pick up points and frames.
  • Responsible for own work and not normally required to direct or supervise other personnel, but may occasionally instruct, show or train other employees how to perform the work.

Requirements

  • High School or Technical School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED) preferred; one to four years of related experience and/or training or combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, part drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write notes.
  • Ability to calculate basic math, use fractions, decimals and percent.
  • Ability to apply logical thinking and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Able to work Saturday and/or Sunday on a rotating basis to meet business needs.
