Mechatronics Engineer
Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you will contribute to mechatronics engineering deliverables that scale by job grade, from executing defined technical work to leading complex module development, shaping technical direction, and driving system-level integration across multiple designs.
Identify, analyze, document, and manage technical requirements, including traceability and verification criteria.
Develop engineering concepts, design solutions, and technical tradeoffs to meet performance, cost, schedule, safety, and compliance needs.
Define specifications and high-level designs, align interfaces, and support design reviews and approvals.
Support system and product integration by coordinating dependencies, managing configuration needs, and enabling smooth execution across functions.
Plan and execute verification and validation activities, improve test methods, and ensure qualification evidence supports release readiness.
Estimate effort, plan and track work, manage risks and dependencies, and deliver assigned work packages or projects to agreed quality and timelines.
Maintain accurate technical documentation, share knowledge, coach or mentor others as appropriate for the role level, and follow EHS policies while identifying and mitigating safety risks.
Requirements, Interfaces, and Technical Specification Management
Ability to identify, analyze, document, and manage requirements with traceability, translate them into clear specifications, and align interfaces for reliable downstream design, integration, and verification.
Engineering Solution Development
Ability to develop mechatronics concepts and solutions, make sound technical tradeoffs, resolve issues, and realize designs that meet functionality, performance, cost, compliance, and schedule constraints, including a deep understanding of control theory, structural dynamics, mechanical design and vibrational analysis.
Integration, Verification, and Validation
Ability to plan and execute verification and validation, ensure qualification evidence supports release readiness, and coordinate dependencies to deliver working, testable solutions.
Behavioral and Leadership Skills
Drives results by translating technical goals into clear priorities, execution plans, and measurable outcomes.
Demonstrates self-awareness by seeking feedback, adapting behavior, and improving collaboration in complex environments.
Values differences by seeking and integrating diverse perspectives and working styles.
Buils effective teams by establishing clear goals, roles, ways of working, trust, and accountability.
Drives vision and purpose by communicating direction, aligning people on priorities, and sustaining focus through ambiguity and change.
Additional Responsibilities
There is potential for exposure to strong magnetic fields, high voltage and currents.
