Mechanical Tradesperson

About the Role

We currently have four permanent full-time opportunities for an experienced Mechanical Tradesperson based at our Woodman Point Treatment Plant and working across our various assets. The successful applicants will be responsible for the provision of mechanical services including scheduled and unscheduled installation, servicing, & overhaul maintenance, fault finding, repair, testing and commissioning of all Water Corporation's assets across our sites. We are seeking individuals who take ownership of their work area, work to a high quality standard and can work effectively and independently but also contributes to a positive team environment and safety culture.

What You'll Do

You'll be responsible for the provision of mechanical services including scheduled and unscheduled (breakdown) maintenance and installation, testing, fault finding, repair and enhance reliability of Mechanical Assets across our Water and Water Resource Recovery areas and sites. You will also be part of an after-hours response roster undertaking faults diagnosis and incident response after hours in addition to planned or unplanned overtime as required.

Main Duties

• Performing scheduled (planned) and unscheduled (breakdown) maintenance in water, wastewater treatment and resource recovery systems and processes including gas, boiler, and steam systems.
• Performing complex isolation and shutdowns procedures.
• Conducting maintenance tasks and problem solving which requires application of knowledge of complex process, treatment and chemical dosing systems.
• Complex problem solving of advanced treatment, process and transfer systems, water, wastewater, and chemical dosing systems.
• Planning work and solving water industry problems.
• Planning, preparing and delivering maintenance projects, and shutdowns works, including arranging associated contractors.

Key Skills and Experience

We are seeking Mechanical Trade qualified candidates, ideally possessing strong experience and ability to repair and overhaul mechanical equipment, such as pumps, centrifuges, fans, engines, boilers, gas systems, gearboxes, and valves.

Your dedication to Occupational Health and Safety including hazard identification and well-developed communication skills are essential for this position along with the following:

• Mechanical Trade Certificate (Fitter/Machinist/Turner)
• Extensive experience in service and maintaining wastewater treatment process and related equipment or relevant related process industry experience.
• Experience with gas and chemical pipework, pumps and flange management
• Relevant High-Risk Licenses
• W.A 'C' Class Drivers Licence
• Highly regarded - Experience with high temperature steam and boiler systems
• Highly regarded – Experience maintaining Type B gas appliances and associated gas systems and equipment and or WA Gas Fitting Permit.
