Steel Dynamics Mechanical Testing Lab Technician Perform all tasks according to Steel Dynamics health, safety, and environmental requirementsEnsure monitoring and measuring equipment is verified before useCollect and prepare samples for testingPerform and evaluate mechanical tests according to standard proceduresPerform preventative maintenance on all testing lab equipmentReport any issues to the Mechanical Testing Lab Lead Technician or the Testing Lab SupervisorWork with others to repair Mechanical Testing Lab equipmentMaintain a high level of cleanliness inside and outside of the labStrong safety awarenessGood communication skills (verbal, written & electronic)Self-Motivated and able to work consistently without direct supervisionWorks well with others and independentlyQuality & detail orientedMechanically inclinedWilling to work scheduled & unscheduled overtimeAbility to work in extreme environmentsAbility to perform repetitive stretching, reaching, lifting and walking to support routine responsibilities.Able to lift 50 lbs.Ability to drive to pick-up samples from different operating units Preferred Previous testing or lab experience Steel Dynamics, Inc., and all affiliated entities are equal opportunity employers.
