About the Role

Work with engineers to assist in developing test equipment for elevator components, assemblies, and systems and with installing elevator subsystems, components, and mockups. The position includes general lab maintenance, conducting tests, component fabrication, and assembly of test fixtures.

Responsibilities

  • Produce test fixtures
  • Lead a team of technicians
  • Assist engineers with performing test plans
  • Perform the installation, removal, service, repair, and modifications of elevator systems
  • Troubleshoot elevator systems
  • Troubleshoot test fixtures
  • Perform structural modifications to the hoist ways
  • Read requirements and specifications to fully understand the systems required for the components being used
  • Provide training for newer employees on products and processes
  • Operate with limited direction
  • Operate machine shop equipment
  • Operate CNC mill, lathe, and brake
  • Assemble prototype components
  • Perform welding
  • Perform shipping and receiving duties
  • Work with others to create SOPs and create/implement safety protocols
  • Adhere to all company safety procedures and standards
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned with limited supervision
  • Maintain a clean environment
  • Adhere to corporate compliance policy, including performing all duties in a professional and responsible manner
  • Complete work in a timely and efficient manner

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of college, technical institute courses, or equivalent work experience (preferred)
  • Forklift and scissor lift certification (preferred)
  • 4-6 years of equivalent work experience
  • 2-4 years of elevator experience
  • OSHA 10
  • Welding Certification
  • Comprehension of general mechanical engineering concepts
  • Effective verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated experience with the use of computer-assisted engineering tools and general knowledge of test equipment
  • Ability to closely follow instructions and pre-established procedures/SOP
  • Ability to operate various hand and power tools
  • Good customer service skills
  • Successful completion of elevator and safety training
