Mechanical Technician - All Levels

Responsibilities
- Play a crucial role in the fabrication of mechanical subsystems on the test and launch sites supporting Neutron, primarily as they relate to fluids system fabrication.
- Support and as needed lead daily activities for up to 3-5 technicians to meet vehicle integration schedule to support launch pad operations.
- Contribute to workflow/best practices for the launch pad operations
- Ensure tasks are completed on time and to quality standards
- Provide support on other operations as needed to support launch ops Integration
- Fit out, assembly and installation of launch pad systems including:
- Fluid system initial build and commissioning.
- As needed Precision cleaning of critical components
- Troubleshooting mechanical issues as needed
Requirements
- Stand and walk for entire shift (8+ hours) on various work surfaces
- Climb ladders and work at elevated height small spaces, awkward positions, and tight areas as needed
- Perform repetitive motions including bending, twisting, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, and stooping
- Use hands with precision to handle, control, and operate tools, instruments, and equipment
- Lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment up to 25 lbs.
- Work in varied environments including production floors, equipment areas, and field locations with exposure to noise, temperature variations, and moving machinery
- Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and varied shifts as operational needs require
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Experience working within an aerospace, industrial or relevant industry environment
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and/or fluid components
- Previous experience in the assembly of large structures and mechanisms
- Knowledge and skill in the use of hand, power and measurement tools used in mechanical construction
Senior Mechanical Technician Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- 8+ years of experience within an aerospace, industrial or relevant industry environment
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and/or fluid components
- Previous experience in the assembly of large structures and mechanisms
- Knowledge and skill in the use of hand, power and measurement tools used in mechanical construction
Pay
The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state of Virginia’s pay transparency requirements. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Base salary is only one part of Rocket Lab’s compensation package for this role.
