Mechanical Tech IV

About the role

Join our team in the scenic Carlsbad, NM area as an Equipment Tech IV. Play a vital role in ensuring operational safety, reliability, and efficiency in the Delaware Basin.

Responsibilities

• Leverage your technical expertise to sustain and optimize rotating equipment, contributing directly to production goals.
• Ensure workplace safety, environmental protection, and exceptional equipment performance.
• Support ongoing OPEX reduction initiatives.

Requirements

• Minimum 1-3 years of industrial maintenance experience, specifically in maintaining and repairing rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, VRUs).
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Experience with high-speed compressors and engines (500-2500 HP preferred).
• Thorough knowledge of surface equipment types and applications in the oil and gas industry.
• Basic troubleshooting skills in automation and electrical systems.
• Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office software.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Nice to have

• Additional experience in maintaining and repairing high-horsepower compressors and engines.
• Certification or training in advanced mechanical troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting compression surveillance, uptime maximization, and process optimization.

Preferred Education and Experience

• A High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Relevant technical certifications or prior experience in maintenance roles within the oil and gas sector in the Delaware Basin.

Other Requirements

• Ability to work an 8-day on / 6-day off rotation schedule.
• Willingness to travel within the facility, including climbing and traversing long distances.
• Ability to lift, carry, climb, and work at heights.
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and respond to alarms.
• Ability to work in potentially hazardous environments (chemical exposure, extreme temperatures, heights).
