About the role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Team Leader to oversee daily operations in our repair shop. This role involves supervising a team of technicians, ensuring timely and high-quality repairs, maintaining safety standards, and coordinating with other departments to meet operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of mechanical technicians and apprentices.
  • Assign tasks and monitor progress to ensure timely completion of repair jobs.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and provide technical guidance on complex repairs.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts usage, and service reports.
  • Coincordinate with inventory and procurement teams to ensure availability of necessary parts and tools.
  • Train and mentor team members to enhance technical skills and productivity.
  • Develop KPI measures to monitor repair production and status.
  • Conduct regular inspections of tools, equipment, and workstations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process optimization.

Requirements

  • Technical certification or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years preferred of hands-on mechanical repair experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Ability to multitask and perform in a high pace work environment.
  • Proficient in using maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Skills
