Mechanical-Systems Engineering Intern
About the role
Qorvo’s Internship Program is designed for college students currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program. The program offers real work experience, exposure to upper management, and the opportunity to pursue full-time opportunities, as available, and includes:

Responsibilities
Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on business needs at the time of the internship assignment. Duties may include:
- Ensuring equipment optimization and robust preventative maintenance schedules are in place
- Cross-functional observation to identify and drive continuous improvements in cycle time, constraints, safety, efficiency, cost, etc.
- Establishing SPC standards in key work areas
- KPI and Dashboard Development/Consolidation
- Use LEAN tools such as A3, 8D and 8-step to apply manufacturing best practices and continual improvements
- Assembly layout projects
- Supply weekly updates to the supporting manager on project status with emphasis on schedule, project health, and any concerns impactful to project timelines
- Generate documentation and reports and present findings in a team meeting
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Mechanical or Systems Engineering
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Computer database experience (Oracle, SQL, Advanced Excel Macros programming)
- Experience with statistical and/or reporting tools such as JMP, Spotfire, or Tableau
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong mechanical aptitude (applies to manufacturing equipment and tooling)
- Self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Strong people skills and ability to work well with all team members

Pay
Competitive hourly pay: $31/hr – $42/hr (subject to change dependent on physical location). Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Qorvo reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as external competitiveness and internal comparability. Base compensation is one element of Total Rewards offered at Qorvo.
