Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations
- Provide direction and leadership on MEP scope(s) on data center projects
- Manage safety, quality, schedule, production, logistics and coordination
- Represent the company in meetings and interfaces with all project stakeholders
- Coordinate and direct all subcontractor and vendors
- Works with the project team to establish goals and develop accountability
- Assumes responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project
- Verifies to ensure subcontractor completes the assigned scope of work
- Sets up to meet or exceed deadlines while meeting safety requirements, productivity goals, sustainability goals and quality
Critical Skills
- Extensive knowledge of established construction practices, procedures, and techniques as well as applicable local, state and federal building codes
- Familiarity with a wide range of equipment and tools and proficiency in skilled construction, and repair tasks
- Possess strong computer skills; proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook
- Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and sequencing, and cost control
- Knowledge of general survey and layout practices
- Ensure all installations meet quality and electrical code standards
- Interact and communicate effectively with project team, customers, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and employees at all levels of the organization
- Effectively lead and manage teams
- Thorough and attentive to details; extremely organized and able to prioritize and multitask
- Proactively plan and identify risks to meet or exceed the deadline while meeting the safety requirements, productivity goals, sustainability goals and quality
- Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in the workplace
- Read, understand, and red-line work orders, budget, change orders, safety standards, plans specifications, shop drawings, submittals, manufacturer’s literature
- Read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, memos, blue prints, contract documents and specifications, and CPM schedules
- Possess strong customer service skills
