Mechanical Superintendent

About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Superintendent to lead field operations for commercial mechanical construction projects. This role is responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and high-quality installation of HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems on large-scale commercial job sites, ensuring all work meets project specifications, code requirements, and company standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage field crews, including foremen, journeymen, and apprentices across HVAC and plumbing scopes.
- Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to ensure efficient workflow.
- Plan and sequence work according to project schedules, ensuring deadlines and milestones are met.
- Interpret and enforce project blueprints, specifications, and code compliance.
- Conduct job site inspections for quality control, safety, and productivity.
- Maintain accurate field documentation including timecards, daily reports, and material tracking.
- Oversee material deliveries and inventory, ensuring tools and equipment are available as needed.
- Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to team members.
- Resolve field issues, RFIs, and unforeseen conflicts swiftly and effectively.
- Enforce OSHA and company safety standards at all times.
Requirements
- Minimum 7–10 years of plumbing experience in commercial mechanical construction.
- Prior supervisory or foreman experience required.
- Strong knowledge of commercial piping systems and plumbing codes.
- Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings and documents.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and field management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, or equivalent).
- Valid Journeyman or Master Plumber License (state-specific).
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
