Responsibilities include conducting mechanical/structural static and dynamic analyses, interface with designers, project engineers, and other analytical disciplines, and document structural analysis calculations.
Responsibilities
- Perform calculations in support of design, development and licensing in the structural discipline.
- Interface with designers, project engineers and other analytical disciplines (thermal, nuclear, etc.) to ensure the structural integrity of the design.
- Conduct finite element analyses on structures, systems and components using either commercial software tools such as ANSYS and LS-DYNA and/or by hand calculations using classical methods.
- The types of analyses required are linear and non-linear structural analysis, rigid body dynamics, modes and frequencies.
- Provide design solutions and verification methods.
- Participate in team meetings, technical reviews, design reviews, peer reviews and problem-solving meetings.
