Mechanical Seal Design Technical Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings for seals, components, and support systems.
• Modify existing seal designs to suit customer equipment requirements.
• Produce 2D and 3D models using approved engineering software.
• Generate detailed component drawings, exploded assemblies, and production documentation.
• Maintain drawing revisions and engineering records.
• Review customer drawings and dimensional information to determine seal fit.
• Perform dimensional comparisons between customer equipment and existing seal designs.
• Support seal conversion projects through drafting and documentation activities.
• Assist with technical evaluations of competitor seals and legacy designs.
• Create engineering packages for manufacturing and procurement.
• Support sales and customer service teams with technical information.
• Create BOMs, SAP material codes, and manufacturing documentation.
• Assist with quotation preparation by providing technical reviews and design support.
• Coordinate with workshop and manufacturing personnel to resolve design-related issues.
• Assist with custom seal designs and engineered modifications.
• Support testing and validation activities.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain technical databases and engineering documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting Technology, or related technical field preferred. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred.
• 3-5 years of drafting, design, or technical support experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. 5-7 years' experience preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and create engineering and manufacturing drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of dimensions, tolerances, and assembly drawings.
• Experience with TeamCenter, PDM systems, or other engineering document control systems.
• Experience in CAD Design & Drafting, Drawing Interpretation, Dimensional Analysis, BOM Creation, Technical Documentation, Mechanical Design Support.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, lift up to 50 pounds, reach with hands and arms, climb, bend, crawl, squat, and see.
