This position is 100% onsite at our Opa Locka (Miami), FL location. U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, refugee, or asylee status is required.

About the Role

Collins Aerospace, a leader in advanced aerospace and defense solutions, is seeking a Mechanical Repair Technician to assemble, test, and inspect basic and major Landing Gear components for narrow and wide-body aircraft. This role supports safe, reliable air travel by producing high-quality mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and adjust test side and drag strut assemblies
  • Assemble and test shock strut assemblies
  • Assemble, fit, dimension, and inspect axle beam assemblies and components
  • Document testing and assembly processes to comply with applicable regulations

Requirements

  • High school diploma (or equivalent, e.g., G.E.D.) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and overhaul manuals for assembly purposes
  • Proficiency in using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, hydraulic gages, etc.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and test equipment
  • Basic computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in Landing Gear or 3 years of general aviation experience
  • Experience with SAP
  • Experience in honing or turret lathe operation
  • Continuous Improvement training (ACE/CORE)

Schedule

  • Second Shift: 2:45 PM – 11:15 PM, Monday – Friday
  • Overtime as business needs determine
  • Training will take place for 4-8 weeks on First Shift: 5:45 AM – 2:15 PM, Monday – Friday
