About the Role
Collins Aerospace, a leader in advanced aerospace and defense solutions, is seeking a Mechanical Repair Technician to assemble, test, and inspect basic and major Landing Gear components for narrow and wide-body aircraft. This role supports safe, reliable air travel by producing high-quality mechanical systems.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and adjust test side and drag strut assemblies
- Assemble and test shock strut assemblies
- Assemble, fit, dimension, and inspect axle beam assemblies and components
- Document testing and assembly processes to comply with applicable regulations
Requirements
- High school diploma (or equivalent, e.g., G.E.D.) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and overhaul manuals for assembly purposes
- Proficiency in using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, hydraulic gages, etc.
- Ability to operate hand tools, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and test equipment
- Basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in Landing Gear or 3 years of general aviation experience
- Experience with SAP
- Experience in honing or turret lathe operation
- Continuous Improvement training (ACE/CORE)
Schedule
- Second Shift: 2:45 PM – 11:15 PM, Monday – Friday
- Overtime as business needs determine
- Training will take place for 4-8 weeks on First Shift: 5:45 AM – 2:15 PM, Monday – Friday
