The Mechanical Reliability Engineer

We are seeking a Mechanical Reliability Engineer to join our technical team at the Augusta, GA plant. This role involves maximizing reliability of unit operations, managing the Mechanical Integrity Reliability Program, and leading efforts to improve reliability and support Operational Excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in the development and implementation of strategies for equipment reliability improvement by collaborating with Operations and Maintenance organizations
  • Oversee all aspects of the plant’s Mechanical Integrity Reliability Program, including leading team problem-solving groups, implementing maintenance standards, and conducting predictive/preventive maintenance optimization
  • Use KPI reports and SAP historical logs to identify areas needing improvement and develop strategies to address these issues, including proactive maintenance, machine modifications, capital investments, and changes to operating procedures
  • Evaluate and implement appropriate preventative maintenance schedules and predictive maintenance technologies
  • Apply Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to enhance plant performance
  • Develop training for craftsmen, covering topics such as machinery lubrication, power transmission alignment, vibration and infrared analysis, pump and solids handling maintenance, and interface with equipment suppliers
  • Provide technical support for projects to ensure optimal life cycle performance and assist maintenance in equipment repair and failure identification

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, with familiarity in chemical processing industry equipment a plus
  • Team leadership and small project management skills, including experience in project concept, premise, and economic justification development
  • SAP PM experience a plus
  • Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Hands-on field machinery expertise preferred

  • U.S. base salary range: $84,960 to $135,000 per year
