Mechanical Quality Engineer (Teradyne, Agoura Hills, CA)

Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Quality Engineer to drive quality across mechanical and electro-mechanical subsystems for Teradyne’s semiconductor test platforms. Your responsibilities will include partnering with design, NPI, and supply chain teams to ensure robust product quality from development through production, leading quality initiatives, developing and maintaining standards, collaborating with engineering, NPI, and suppliers, building and executing design verification plans, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions, supporting continuous improvement, and more.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or Master’s with relevant experience)
• 5–8 years of experience in mechanical engineering, quality engineering, or product development
• Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and mechanical design fundamentals
• Experience with DFM/DFA principles and design verification testing
• Familiarity with root cause analysis methods (8D, 5 Whys, A3) and CAPA processes
• Experience working in cross-functional product development environments
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills

Additional Strengths

• Proficiency with CAD tools (SOLIDWORKS, PDM systems preferred)
• Familiarity with FEA tools (ANSYS or similar)
• Ability to drive quality improvements across design and manufacturing workflows
• Attention to detail with a structured, process-driven approach

Prior Experience

• Preferred Lean Six Sigma certification and FMEA experience
• Familiarity with semiconductor equipment or SEMI standards
