About the role
WDF Inc., a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking a Mechanical Project Executive to join their Mt Vernon, New York location. WDF Inc. is one of the largest specialty mechanical contractors in the New York metropolitan area, known for self-performing HVAC, plumbing, sprinkler, and specialty general construction in both public and private sectors. Notable projects include NYCHA Boiler Projects, Brooklyn Jail, Port Authority Bus Terminal, SCA High Pressure Boiler Plant, and Manhattan Jail.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain long-lasting relationships with clients, the design community, and organizations to enhance future business development opportunities
- Direct and supervise work of project administration, project superintendents, and engineers to establish operational priorities and maintain satisfactory relationships with owners, subcontractors, unions, etc.
- Oversee the activities of all the direct report entities Sheet Metal, Sprinkler, Plumbing & HVAC Pipe, Safety, and Accounts Controller
- Develop high-performance teams through supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring
- Ensure regular feedback is shared with staff including timely completion of employee performance appraisals
- Ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements on all projects
- Provide leadership in risk evaluation, contract negotiations, fee and pricing decisions
- Oversee the development of the master project schedule and manage its implementation
- Oversee the administration of the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program
- Drive enforcement of safety protocols by the project staff
- May perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Construction Management, or related from an accredited institution plus minimum of 15 years’ experience in the lead role on projects valued at 1 Billion or larger. Advanced degree preferred
- Thorough knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and engineering principles and techniques, as well as accounting principles
- Must have knowledge of regional market and sales/closing skills
- Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
- Knowledge of Building Information Models (BIM) and Lean to benefit the project
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
- Prominent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite of programs
- Advanced presentation skills
Pay
The salary for this position is between $249,000 and $314,000 depending on experience.
