Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for HVAC system concept selection, subject to approval of the Mechanical Department Manager and Project Manager.
- Responsible for the quality of work produced by subordinate personnel.
- Calculation of heating and cooling loads, duct static pressure and pump head calculations.
- Ductwork and piping system selection and sizing.
- HVAC Equipment selection and sizing.
- Miscellaneous engineering calculations as required by project scope.
- Generation of schematic diagrams and flow diagrams.
- Specification writing, subject to review by the Mechanical Department Manager.
- Writing reports and feasibility studies.
- Attendance at design development and construction meetings.
- Responsible for accurate and timely completion of the design.
- Interfacing with clients, vendors and other disciplines.
- Review of shop drawings, including responsibility for final disposition.
- Conduct surveys.
- General knowledge of applicable codes.
- General knowledge of Energy Modeling.
- Troubleshoot and execute assignments for multiple projects in a timely manner.
- Effectively and collaboratively work across multiple departments and stakeholders to help gather requirements, plan and execute project requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of design changes and project progress.
- Participate in onsite client visits including and not limited to project scope walks, meetings, testing, commissioning, startup support, and trouble shooting.
- Aid in client proposals and Proposal development.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements
- 7-10 years of experience
- Professional Engineer (PE license) preferred
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
- Strong knowledge of applicable codes
- LEED certification is a plus
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to take direction and act independently
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized
- Experience solving complex problems with little to no supervision and on schedule as an individual or as a member of an integrated team
- Experience in the management and execution of multiple projects in Revit and AutoCAD
- Excellent technical, presentation and client interface skills
- Up to date with advancements in mechanical engineering technology and techniques
- Seek opportunities to innovate and improve existing designs and processes
Education Requirement(s)
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from a 4-year accredited college or university.
