About the role
TekWissen is seeking a Mechanical Professional for a 12-month temporary assignment in Houston, TX. The role is located onsite and pays $55.00 - 70.00/hr.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project’s mechanical aspects.
- Lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of mechanical components and processes.
- Resolve technical issues and ensure the unique and complex requirements of a project’s mechanical aspects are met.
- Communicate complex technical issues and recommend solutions to Supervisor and/or project management.
- Mentor designers and drafters by providing appropriate on-the-job training for their professional development.
- Support function initiatives of developing Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), client design guides, appropriate client Standard Computer Applications (BSAPs) and administrative practices.
- Assume a lead technical role over other engineers or project subgroups for completing specific tasks as directed.
Requirements
- Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
- Minimum 10 (ten) years of Dry systems experience.
- In-depth knowledge of equipment packages such as Air Handling Systems, Air Condensing units, Variable Air Volume Units and Cleanroom Recirculation Air and Exhaust Systems.
Skills
- Good working knowledge of International standard for cleanrooms and associated controlled environments (ISO 14644 1 thru 14).
- Knowledge of systems, calculations, equipment, applications of methods, plant layout, materials, and computers for preparation of analyses and development of project deliverables within the discipline.
- Thorough knowledge of discipline engineering techniques, the design of engineered systems, and engineering and design calculations.
- Thorough understanding of the roles played by other departments on projects including construction practices and the economics involved.
- Knowledge of precedents in the discipline and of principles and practices of related disciplines.
- Able to troubleshoot issues in a field or job site setting confidently, and to provide instruction on how to resolve issues identified.
Benefits
The role is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.
Pay
$55.00 - 70.00/hr.
