Mechanical/Plumbing Designer
About the role
Mechanical/Plumbing Designer/Drafter MK2 Engineers is seeking a Mechanical/Plumbing Designer for their expanding mechanical department. The ideal candidate should have 5-10 years of experience in A/E firms as a mechanical designer in California, with a minimum of 5 years of plumbing design experience. Knowledge of building codes, including mechanical, plumbing, and NFPA standards, and AutoCAD experience are required.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide Mechanical/Plumbing designs for projects' drawings and specifications.
- Provide mechanical/plumbing design from schematic through construction administration.
- Design and engineer plumbing systems for new and retrofits.
- Manage all aspects of plumbing design projects, including load and pressure drop calculations.
- Work with other engineering staff to provide engineering solutions for projects in various facilities such as commercial, institutional, governmental, winery, school, and healthcare.
Additional Responsibilities
- Prepare scope reports and other technical reports.
- Cook up with Architectural, Civil, Structural, and Electrical engineers.
- Maintain mechanical specifications and detail library.
- Ensure compliance with CAD Standards and processes.
