Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical/Piping Designer to develop detailed mechanical and piping drawings and BIM models for commercial and multifamily building projects. The role focuses on producing accurate HVAC, plumbing, and piping design documentation using AutoCAD and Revit, coordinating with engineers and architects, and supporting project delivery from design through construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed mechanical, piping, and HVAC drawings, schematics, and plans in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Create and maintain BIM/Revit models to the required Level of Development (LOD) and ensure model coordination with other disciplines
  • Create piping isometrics, equipment schedules, riser diagrams, and system schematics
  • Cover piping systems with architectural, structural, and electrical teams to resolve clashes and ensure constructability
  • Size and select mechanical equipment, pumps, valves, and piping components based on design criteria and codes

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Designer, Piping Designer, or Mechanical Drafter
  • Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for producing mechanical and piping drawings and BIM models
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing design, piping materials, and piping layout practices
  • Familiarity with building codes, standards, and best practices for mechanical and plumbing systems
  • Excellent coordination skills and experience resolving interdisciplinary clashes in a BIM environment
  • Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Drafting, or related field preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineers, architects, contractors, and clients
  • Willingness to perform site visits and support construction phase coordination
