About the role
The Mechanical Manager leads the mechanical trades for a project, both in estimating and preconstruction capacities. This role involves understanding deliverables, developing a work plan, identifying required resources, and coordinating with the Lead Estimating Manager/Preconstruction Manager.
Responsibilities
- Leads budget / bid / GMP assembly for the trade specialization
- Prepares detailed estimates at all phases of design; proficient in Division 15
- Manages and coordinates Division 15 with all other divisions
- Led constructability reviews for the mechanical trades
- Develops specific systems analyses and creates Value Engineering and Alternates lists/logs
- Researches and compiles historical data for future estimate and bid preparation
- Participates in design progress/project meetings and client presentations
- Owes responsibility for overall trade partner/supplier coverage and effective communication and management
- Strategically identifies and aligns the most qualified trade partners for the market sector and scope
- Counsels, educates, and coaches staff to help them develop necessary job skills
- Builds relationships with trade partners/suppliers, clients, and design teams
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architecture or related field or equivalent relevant experience
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in estimating for commercial construction
- Experience leading the bidding and budgeting process for the mechanical trades for a project
- Knowledge of principles and practices of engineering and construction management, including safety, quality, constructability and sustainability standards
- Leadership level communication and organization skills

Benefits
Base Salary (or Hourly) Range: $105,000.00 - $135,000.00
