Mechanical Maintenance Journeyman

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Mechanical Maintenance Journeyman to support a 24/7 production plant. The position works 8‑hour shifts and provides on‑site maintenance support around the clock.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on critical pieces of equipment to ensure reliability and minimize downtime.
• Repair unplanned machinery failures in an efficient and safe manner.
• Complete lube routes throughout the facility.
• Collaborate interdepartmentally with other trades to troubleshoot machinery issues.
• Execute the weekly planned work schedule while supporting engineering installation of new equipment.

Requirements

• Welding, greasing, and hydraulic repair skills.
• Strong mathematical abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Capability to work independently when necessary and effectively in a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Self‑motivation with minimal supervision and strong troubleshooting aptitude.
• Ability to climb and work at heights or from ladders.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Willingness to work overtime as required.
• Passing scores on a mechanical ability test and a mechanical journeyman test.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting up to 50 lb to shoulder height occasionally.
• Extensive walking, climbing, stairs, kneeling, stooping, and sitting for up to 100 % of working hours.
• Standing for long periods, up to 6 hours continuously.
• Use of precision mechanical tools (welding, cutting, wrenches, lathes, etc.).
• Sensory demands: hearing, listening, smelling, touching, speaking, tasting, seeing, and distinguishing colors for up to 100 % of working hours.
• Stationary computer work up to 6 hours per day.
• Exposure to high heat and cold for up to 100 % of working hours.

Pay

The hourly pay rate starts at $30.26 and increases to $33.32.

Schedule

Monday & Tuesday: 11:45 pm – 7:45 am
Friday through Sunday: 11:45 pm – 7:45 am
