Mechanical Lab Technician

About the role

We are seeking a highly organized, safety focused Mechanical Lab Technician to support daily laboratory operations, equipment management, prototyping activities, and engineering support functions. This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in a collaborative environment, can follow established processes, and are passionate about maintaining safe, efficient, and well-organized technical workspaces. This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with advanced engineering tools, metrology equipment, rapid prototyping technologies, and laboratory operations while working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe, organized, and efficient lab operations with a strong focus on EHS compliance.
• Manage inventory, equipment assets, tools, prototypes, and supplies.
• Cook up coordination maintenance, calibration, and vendor activities.
• Support engineering teams with CAD updates, prototyping, measurements, and equipment setup.
• Operate and maintain fabrication and lab equipment, including 3D printers and CNC equipment.
• Aid with equipment retrofits, shipping/logistics, and documentation.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, safety procedures, and operational documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in laboratory, manufacturing, or engineering support environments.
• Familiarity with 2D/3D CAD.
• Experience with metrology tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
