Mechanical Inspector & Plans Examiner

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Building Official. This position will be responsible for overseeing building inspections, enforcing local building codes, and ensuring compliance with state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee building inspections to ensure compliance with local and state building codes
• Enforce building codes and regulations to maintain safe living conditions
• Review construction plans and permit applications for adherence to building codes
• Provide technical guidance and training to contractors and developers
• Respond to complaints and concerns related to building safety
• Prepare reports and documentation as required by regulatory bodies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in building inspection or related field
• Knowledge of local and state building codes and regulations
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Qualifications

• Experience with computer software such as AutoCAD or similar drafting tools
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of building materials and construction techniques

Pay

• $80,000 - $90,000 annually
