Mechanical Inspector

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a dedicated and experienced Building Official to oversee all aspects of building department services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction codes, zoning regulations, and building inspections.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve building plans according to local building codes and regulations
• Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards
• Enforce zoning laws and regulations to ensure compliance with community planning and zoning guidelines
• Respond to public inquiries regarding building permits and inspections
• Manage and train staff members to ensure efficient and effective building department operations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in building department services
• Knowledge of local building codes and zoning regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with building permit systems and inspection software
• Strong organizational and time management skills
