We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector for a full-time position located in San Antonio, Texas The Mechanical Inspector will be acting as an Owner's Representative responsible for field inspection of all mechanical systems, including but not limited to, HVAC, hydronic piping, building automation systems, chiller, boilers, air handling units, plumbing systems, and fire suppression systems during construction. This position requires experience working within complex, active facilities. This role may involve reviewing engineering plans, inspecting installations, witness testing equipment and verifying the contractors deliver high-quality work. Responsibilities Inspection of mechanical systemsCompare field installations against approved construction plans, specifications, submittals, and manufacturer guidelines.Identify defects and deviations and issue non-conformance reports.Serve as the primary liaison between the mechanical subcontractors, engineers, project managers and construction managers.Prepare regular progress reportsReview change orders related to mechanical systemsParticipate in project meetings to assist in resolving issuesWitness and document equipment testingOversee pre-commissioning and final commissioningParticipate in project closeout, including but not limited to preparing and tracking punch list, reviewing O&Ms, warranties, and as-built drawings Minimum Qualifications High school diploma required; Associate degree preferredMinimum 8-10 years' experience in commercial construction mechanical inspection, mechanical engineering or as a senior mechanical superintendent/foreman.
