Mechanical HVAC Engineer (Data Center)

About the role
In our Advanced Manufacturing Group, our team elevates our clients by delivering cost-effective and transformative projects to the electric vehicle, data center, consumer goods and products, metals, pulp and paper, and various other markets. We're looking for a high-energy Mechanical HVAC Engineer to focus on our Data Center market. You will deliver innovative HVAC design solutions, work alongside engineers and designers performing field investigations, interface with clients and vendors, size and select equipment, and prepare construction design packages.
You’ll be accountable for the schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks while gaining familiarity with client expectations, scope, budget, and schedule. You’ll collaborate with a multi-discipline team to establish a process design basis, develop optimized processes, create calculations, and generate process drawings.
Responsibilities
- Layout and design of HVAC systems for data centers, electric vehicles, and heavy industrial facilities.
- Development of design criteria for HVAC systems, including general comfort heating and cooling, systems with accurate temperature or humidity control, unique pressurization requirements, and clean room applications.
- Development of conceptual and preliminary design documents, including calculations for sizing and selecting systems, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and general arrangements.
- Layout of ductwork systems based on P&IDs.
- Development of final design documents, including specifications, sequences of operation, piping layout, and construction documents for systems such as chilled water and cooling water.
- Coordination with other disciplines.
- Lead a building mechanical team on projects and collaborate with remote team members.
Requirements
- Four (4) or more years of experience in the design of HVAC systems.
- Thorough knowledge of codes and standards related to HVAC system design.
- Adaptability to work within a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
- Professional Engineering License (preferred).
- Software experience in Revit, AutoCAD, Carrier HAP, Trane Trace 700, and Trane Trace 3D (preferred).
- Experience in the design of plumbing/utility systems (preferred).

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $102,900.00 to $141,500.00 and will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
