Mechanical Hardware Engineer V
About the role
We are looking for a Senior Hardware Mechanical Engineer who combines superb technical and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. This person will be responsible for developing 3D and 2D mechanical designs and related analysis specifically for flight-critical avionics systems.
The ideal candidate will have a foundation in mechanical engineering suited for both prototype and production-level designs. The role is located in Bellevue, Washington, and is a 12-month contract with an estimated start date of ASAP.
Compensation for this role is $70-78/hr.
Responsibilities
- Develop 3D and 2D mechanical designs for flight-critical avionics systems.
- Perform related mechanical analysis on designs.
- Design mechanical assemblies for electronics.
- Work with rapid prototype tooling and production tooling.
- Manage engineering projects.
Qualifications
A BSc or MSc in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or an equivalent field is required.
Candidates must have a minimum of 8+ years of experience designing mechanical assemblies for electronics, along with experience in both rapid prototype and production tooling. Experience in project management is also required. If you have a Master's, we require a minimum of 4+ years of experience.
Skills
Knowledge of MCAD software for 3D modeling and 2D drafting is necessary. Strong communication and writing skills are required.
Preferred skills include experience with Dassault 3DExperience Enovia for PLM, proficiency with Dassault 3DExperience Catia for 3D modeling and 2D drafting, familiarity with thermal simulation analysis using ANSYS IcePak and/or Siemens Star CCM, experience with mechanical stack-up analysis and structural load analysis, and use of engineering project management software such as JIRA or Confluence.
