Responsibilities
- Develop pricing model per RFP requirements.
- Develop general and special conditions costs.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Analyze project plans and specifications to create detailed cost estimates.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to determine the scope of work.
- Utilize estimating software to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Evaluate and select suitable materials and equipment for projects.
- Prepare and submit bid proposals for mechanical projects.
- Communicate with suppliers and contractors to obtain pricing information.
- Review constructability issues with key operational staff.
- Assist with review of subcontractor proposals to ensure scope coverage; and identify scope gaps.
- Maintain and communicate data on construction and material cost trends.
- Ensure pricing model data accuracy.
- Work collaboratively with other team members.
- Ensure effective transfer of awarded projects to field operation staff.
- Effectively communicate price proposal development process to senior management.
- Create/manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
- Professionally communicate in highly stressed environments.
Requirements
- Experience in mechanical HVAC and mechanical plumbing projects is a must.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in mechanical estimating.
- Experience in various market sectors, including federal government, commercial, and medical are needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering or a related field is desired.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated experience working independently on projects from $50K to $10M.
- Strong understanding of mechanical HVAC systems, plumbing systems and components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Willingness to work closely in a team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
- Experience with design build and design bid build RFPs.
- Ability to develop competitive price proposals on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal.
- Provide support during project implementation to ensure estimated costs are adhered to.
- Proficiency with computer software to include MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.). ProEst or similar experience desirable.
- Willingness and the ability to walk project sites to gather information needed to complete a detailed estimate.
- Unrestricted driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel to project sites that may require overnight stays.

Pay
The salary range for this position is TBD, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
This position will be based in Holt, FL and will require occasional overnight stays at project sites.
