Mechanical Engineering Technology Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Technology Manager in Mechanical Engineering research to lead the development of structural mechanics, durability, and fatigue solutions for energy systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a portfolio of innovative research programs aligned with business goals
• Lead early-stage disruptive technology development from concept to transition
• Create multi-generational technology roadmaps to maintain competitive advantage
• Collaborate with internal leaders and external partners, including government agencies and academic institutions
• Represent research capabilities within the scientific community
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers and scientists
• Drive operational excellence, safety, quality, and budget management

Qualifications

• PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with 10+ years
• Proven leadership in structural mechanics, durability, or fatigue-related R&D programs
• Experience managing teams of 3 or more technical professionals
• Strong communication skills for engaging technical and non-technical audiences

Skills

• Experience with government research proposals and transition of R&D to products
• Expertise in structural analysis tools such as FEA and probabilistic modeling
• Knowledge of industry trends in power, wind energy, or electrification
• Active involvement in professional communities and continuous improvement practices
