About the role

Responsible for building, repairing, and preparing articles for testing and associated auxiliary equipment. Installs test articles into test structures and performs tests according to established procedures. Analyzes and reviews data for appropriateness. Configures and operates data acquisition systems; documents, defines data collected, and maintains electronic files. Performs test stand installation, troubleshooting, and setups; maintains laboratory equipment.

  • Supports engineering for equipment supplier evaluation and qualification, equipment and facility updates, and instrument specification.
  • Conducts performance and reliability testing on multiple and single cylinder engines, components, systems, and controls; diagnoses issues and initiates appropriate resolutions.
  • Configures and operates data acquisition systems; writes computer programs to assist in analysis and data interpretation; configures engine test programs; interprets results and makes necessary adjustments.
  • Creates sketches for machining and fabricates necessary piping, tubing, and brackets from prints and drawings; installs engines and instrumentation in test cells and rigs.
  • Uses common tools such as Calterm, Asset, Cyflex, etc.; designs, documents, and executes test plans; prepares test reports to include findings, conclusions, and recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Performs testing in accordance with established test procedures and methodology; consistently provides accurate and reliable test results.
  • Has an in-depth understanding of the function of the test equipment used to perform tests and the contribution of the test equipment to the validity of the test results.
  • Configures and operates data acquisition systems; analyzes and reviews data for appropriateness.
  • Interprets the functioning of the product under test to assess its contribution to the validity of the test results.
  • Performs test stand installation, troubleshooting, and setups; maintains laboratory equipment.
  • Provides support and recommendations to engineering for equipment supplier evaluation and qualification, equipment and facility updates, and instrument specification.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education, or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field is required.
  • Regionally applicable certification or two-year Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study may be required.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Four years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Department of Labor Certification or four years of relevant experience.
  • Validated right to work using E-Verify.
