Mechanical Engineering Technician

Requirements

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma/GED, Associate degree, or BA/BS in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
• Experience: 10 years of technical or manufacturing experience, 2 years of medical device manufacturing experience preferred
• Skills: Effective oral/written communication, teamwork, independent thinking, decision making, machine design, troubleshooting, safety & ergonomics expertise, project management, quality systems knowledge, logistics & planning knowledge, computer skills, financial acumen

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve losses (breakdown, waste, speed)
• Support shift technicians in investigating losses and ensuring countermeasures are effective
• Coach technicians and operators on quality and effectiveness of problem-solving tools and robustness of countermeasures
• Support CI projects/validations to improve equipment reliability
• Develop and implement basic maintenance processes for designated product lines
• Lead maintenance activities for respective line in conjunction with Preventative Maintenance Leader
• Maintain critical equipment settings, standards, and close loop on changes made
• Build maintenance skills for technicians and operators
• Train and coach technicians and operators on DTM/PPM maintenance activities and standards
• Execute maintenance activities in the line (planned/unplanned when available)
• Record maintenance details and report abnormalities to reduce losses
• Manage spare parts usage and record unplanned breakdowns
• Respond to and escalate equipment breakdowns in an expedient manner
• Develop and implement maintenance standards for designated manufacturing units

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma/GED, Associate degree, or BA/BS in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
• Experience: 3 years people leading experience preferred, 5 years’ experience with high-speed automated assembly and packaging equipment required, some PLC experience preferred but not essential

Pay and Schedule

Pay rate: $20-25/hr

Duration: 12 months

Total Hours/Week: 40.00

Schedule: 1st Shift (8 am - 5 pm)
