Mechanical Engineering Technician

About the role

Creare seeks a dynamic and experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician to support engineering projects with fabrication and assembly skills, testing, data collection and reduction, and basic CAD modeling.

Responsibilities

• Assembling and fabricating mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic hardware, test facilities, and prototypes
• Setting up and conducting experiments
• Troubleshooting components, facilities, and experiments
• Recording data, data reduction, and creating/maintaining project documentation

Requirements

An ideal candidate would possess an Engineering Technology degree and five years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills

• Demonstrated and broad experience in traditional fabrication including manual machining skills (lathes/mills/grinders), welding, prototyping, plumbing, hydraulics, wiring, and assembly
• Selecting, installing, and maintaining instrumentation
• Interpreting, modifying, and creating CAD models
• Understanding and applying engineering fundamentals
• Intuitive understanding of mechanical systems
• Ability to multi-task and appropriately prioritize competing demands
• Strong organization, computer proficiency, and record-keeping skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Pay

Starting salary range of $28–$35 per hour, based on level of education completed and years of relevant experience.
