About the role

In this role, you will make an impact by:

  • Disassembling and rebuilding production and experimental engines and components, measuring and recording measurements.
  • Configuring and operating data acquisition systems; analyzing and reviewing data for appropriateness.
  • Installing engines and components in test cells or test rigs.
  • Fabricating necessary piping, tubing, and brackets from prints and drawings.
  • Diagnosing engine and test cell problems.
  • Configuring and operating engines or rigs, measuring and recording data as requested, and performing preventative maintenance on engines, test cells, or test rigs.
  • Executing written work requests and reporting on results in a specified format.
  • Supporting technicians and engineers as required.
  • Understanding and applying appropriate Company and department rules and guidelines to work.
  • Interfacing with customers, suppliers, engineers, and other functions.
  • Participating in the maintenance of quality procedures.
  • Participating in improvement projects.
  • Developing and giving presentations to customers and suppliers.
  • Maintaining cleanliness within the workplace.
  • Knowing and complying with departmental safety policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrating confidentiality as required.
  • Participating in self- and team-audits and associated corrective action.
  • Performing other miscellaneous duties, as required, to get the job done.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in daily 5S efforts.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, orderly, and productive workspace.
  • Maintain daily test cell and work order logbooks.
  • Consistently run daily Test Readiness Verification (TRV).
  • Consistently update Multi-State Utilization (MSU) Board.
  • Consistently review/approve timecard.
  • Maintain good relations, communication, and a spirit of collaboration with customers and cross-functional departments.
  • Maintain engines on test.
  • Complete all mandatory training by required deadlines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Minimal relevant experience required; school-to-work program experience in a relevant field preferred.

  • Test Article Build: Assembles test articles according to test requirements, including instrumentation accommodations.
  • Preventative and Predictive Maintenance: Interprets maintenance records and data to develop and execute management strategies.
  • Data Quality: Identifies, understands, and corrects flaws in data to support effective information governance.
  • Problem Solving: Solves problems using systematic analysis and may mentor others on effective problem-solving methodologies.
