Mechanical Engineering - Reliability Intern (Fall 2026)
Job Summary

Our 3D printing technology powers innovation at over 50,000 industry leaders, including Apple, Google, Tesla, New Balance, and NASA. As a Hardware Test Engineering Intern, you'll play a key role in ensuring our products meet design and reliability requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and manage system, subsystem, and component level validation test plans to ensure products meet design and reliability requirements.
- Work with other teams to ensure a thorough system is completed.
- Perform hands-on and data-driven root cause analysis to triage field failures and electromechanical systems, utilizing common problem-solving methodologies and a "physics of failure" approach.
- Design, build, and implement automated testing equipment for subsystem characterization and reliability/environmental testing.
- Collaborate with the design team throughout product development to perform risk assessments, manage continuous testing, and contribute to design reviews.
Requirements
- Well versed with complex electromechanical systems and passionate about understanding what it takes to make them work reliably.
- Experience developing full system test plans and executing them in fast-paced product development timelines.
- Experience with testing a wide range of sensors, actuators, and mechanical components.
- Ability to prototype and run your own tests, from experimental setup to hardware and software implementation.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with Linux systems and scripting in various languages (Python preferred).
- Familiarity with HALT and HASS testing.

This is a salaried role, so you will always be paid based on the assumed 40 hours per week as a full-time intern. This position does not offer housing or relocation assistance.
