Roles And Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mechanical engineers with performance management, coaching, and career development
- Oversee the design, analysis, and validation of mechanical components and systems
- Manage engineering projects from concept through production, to ensure alignment with business objectives
- Establish and enforce engineering standards, best practices, and design processes
- Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and electrical teams
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to product design, cost reduction, and process efficiency
- Review and approve engineering designs, specifications, and technical documentation
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure successful completion
- Manage resource planning, project prioritization, and workload distribution across the team
- Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for product or production issues
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives while providing cost reduction leadership (i.e. interact with manufacturing, vendors, marketing, and engineering teams to reduce costs)
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- 15+ years of engineering experience, with a strong background in mechanical design and development
- 3–5 years of management or supervisory experience
- Possess first-rate knowledge of AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor (or SolidWorks), and Vault
- Ability to lead technical teams and manage complex engineering projects
- Proficiency in CAD tools and engineering analysis methods (e.g., FEA, GD&T)
- Experience working within a manufacturing or product development environment
- Possess a good understanding of manufacturing processes with emphasis on process equipment including a working knowledge of piping, structural steel, welding, gears, motors, machinery, and fabricating processes
- Understanding of materials, mechanics, fluid & thermal dynamics with experience utilizing FEA and CFD tools
- Familiar with a wide variety of fabrication, machining, and manufacturing methods
- Experience with streamlining engineering processes and implementing product and process improvements
- Familiarity with GD&T and tolerance analysis
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Management
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification
- Knowledge of ASME code for pressure vessels
- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems
- Exposure to regulated industries (if applicable)
