About the role
Design detail parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures, mission equipment, and mechanical systems.
Responsibilities
- Research, develop layouts, and prepare engineering drawings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet requirements at minimal cost
- Use advanced 3D CAD tools for design
- Guide and mentor team members
- Oversee program lifecycle activities such as proposals, risk assessment, and execution
- Ensure compliance with airworthiness, customer, and company standards
- Drive process improvements and risk management
- Lead large prototype programs and influence stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 9 years of aircraft design experience, graduate degree with 7 years, or 13 years of experience without a degree
- U.S. citizenship required
- Knowledge of aircraft systems, certification processes, and military standards
- Familiarity with FAA and military aircraft certification requirements
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret with SCI clearance
Skills
- Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Preferred: active security clearance
