Mechanical Engineering Internship (Fall 2026)

About the Role

We are seeking talented engineers who are immediately available to work closely with the broader engineering team for an exciting internship opportunity. This person is passionate about engineering, ready to take ownership over complex challenges, and a strong desire to learn about all things satellites. During the internship program at Apex, you'll gain hands-on experience and professional growth opportunities. You'll be assigned a project to give you the opportunity to have real impact. Throughout the project you'll have a dedicated mentor to guide you, while participating in learning sessions to elevate your knowledge of aerospace. Mechanical Engineering Internship

ME Interns will contribute to the development of Comet XL and Comet Mini deployable structures. The intern will need extensive experience with CAD (NX), prior hands-on experience building any type of hardware especially electromechanical systems and soft goods.

Requirements

• Graduating in the Spring or Fall of 2027
• Currently pursuing a BS or MS
• This internship will begin as soon as possible (Fall 2026) and offers both full-time (40 hours/week) and part-time (minimum 20 hours/week) options
• Full-time interns should be available to pause or adjust academic commitments (such as taking a semester off or enrolling part-time) for the duration of the 12 week program
• Part-time interns must maintain consistent availability during standard business hours to collaborate with their teams
• This is a fully on-site role
