IMEG is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Intern in St. Louis, Missouri. Over 10-12 weeks, you'll assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of mechanical systems for the vertical building industry while gaining hands-on experience alongside experienced engineers and consultants. In this role, you'll support project documentation, coordination, and job site observations while helping teams work within project budgets and meet client expectations. You'll collaborate across disciplines on healthcare-focused MEP work while advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design. At a Glance Location: St. Louis, MO Discipline: Mechanical Markets: Healthcare; MEP Ownership: 100% employee-owned (ESOP) Work Schedule: Full-time in office Program Length: 10-12 week summer program Sponsorship: Not available What You'll Do Assist with mechanical system design according to code and company standardsResearch commercially available equipment and supporting resourcesSupport client relations, project design notebooks, and permanent record documentationCoordinate design activities and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment supplier teamsDocument design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project progressReview project documents for accuracy and completeness before final checkHelp prepare and issue addendum informationConduct periodic job site observations and support other services required by the contract services agreement What You'll Bring Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent requiredPrior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferredStrong interest in design consultingProficient with MS Office Suite including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and OutlookSkilled in AutoCAD and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM) softwareAbility to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups Why IMEG We put people at the center of who we are, creating positive outcomes for people, communities, and our planet.
