About the role

Jacobs is expanding its Energy & Power Solutions team to tackle the complexities of decarbonization and deliver a cleaner and more secure energy future. We're seeking Mechanical Engineering Interns to join our team across the country. You'll have the opportunity to use your theoretical knowledge and apply it to solving today's challenges by providing a range of engineering services for energy and power projects.

Responsibilities

Support engineering calculations, construction drawings, and specifications for energy and power projects
Perform piping and equipment sizing, stress analysis, flow modeling, energy analysis, and life cycle cost evaluations
Take ownership of the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of work assigned
Progress from basic design work assignments to more complicated and involved projects working in conjunction with a technical team
Engage with clients and evaluate their energy needs to develop concept-level plans and solutions
Be mentored by Professional Engineers throughout the internship

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program for Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program
Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred skills

Familiarity or experience with 3D modeling software such as Revit, AutoCAD, CADWorx and NavisWorks
Familiarity or experience with hydraulic modeling software such as Pipe-Flo or AFT Fathom
Familiarity or experience with systems modeling software such as Thermoflow or Aspen/Hysys
Prior design or consulting internships are highly regarded
