About the role
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern on our Materials Characterization Systems (MCS) team, you’ll be paired with an experienced mentor and immersed in both office and lab environments. You’ll support new product development and sustaining engineering efforts for advanced technologies that characterize the physical properties of early-stage electronic and magnetic materials.
Responsibilities
- Mechanical Design: Create and refine mechanical components using SolidWorks.
- Modeling & Simulation: Use tools like SolidWorks, ANSYS, and MATLAB to simulate and optimize designs.
- Engineering Calculations: Perform mathematical analyses to support design decisions.
- Experimental Testing: Conduct hands-on testing and analysis of new designs in lab settings.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a related discipline.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks proficiency preferred).
- Experience with Python preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
